My top 5 Education-related Ted Talks

There are so many resources out there if you are looking into alternatives to sending your child to public school.  When I started considering the alternatives,  I had a lot of normal fears associated with doing something outside of the “norm.”

Here are 5 of my favorite Ted Talks on the subject of Education that I found very helpful in the beginning of my search:

Ken Robinson – Bring on the Learning Revolution

Ken Robinson – How to Escape Educations Death Valley

Geoffrey Canada – Our Failing Schools.  Enough is Enough!

John Bennett – Why Math Instruction is Unnecessary (PS… he is a math teacher.)

Logan LaPlante – Hackschooling Makes Me Happy

As always, I really would love to hear your thoughts, comments, questions and concerns!

    1. Thanks for the comment Lisa! I have not seen that one but I look forward to watching it! Thanks for the info!!! I’m seriously ridiculous right now with how much I’m reading and learning about homeschooling! It’s so interesting to me! I wish more people were willing to consider it for their kids!

    1. Yes I agree. I think I used to roll my eyes if someone said they were going to teach their kids on their own. I’m so happy I finally opened my eyes to how much better it actually can be and it really makes so much more sense now!!

  1. Those 5 talks are among my faves as well. Another one that I love is the RSA Talk by Astra Taylor “The Unschooled Life”. I was teetering on the edge of Unschooling, and when I saw Astra’s talk I thought “That’s it!” It’s what I had been searching for, it all made so much sense.
